The vision that became
the foundation for
Beyond the Walls Initiative
While leading reentry housing programs, I created the Beyond the Walls Program to provide justice-involved individuals with more than housing. The program was built on a simple belief: lasting reentry requires stable housing, meaningful support, and someone willing to walk beside people as they rebuild their lives.

As the program grew, so did the vision. I recognized the need for something bigger—an organization that could develop multiple reentry housing programs, build community partnerships, expand supportive services, and create innovative solutions.
That vision became Beyond the Walls Initiative, an independent nonprofit dedicated to reducing homelessness and recidivism.
Today, BTWI will serve as the umbrella for a growing network of reentry housing programs, allowing us to expand our reach, strengthen collaborations, and create more opportunities for individuals returning home.

Who Are We
Beyond the Walls Initiative exists to support justice-involved individuals returning from incarceration by providing pathways to housing stability, employment, mentorship, and
recovery support. Through collaboration with community partners, we work to reduce
homelessness and recidivism, restore dignity, and create meaningful second chances.
